Army helicopter missing: Gen. Bajwa updates PM Shehbaz on the latest information
On Monday, a Pakistani Army chopper that was travelling from Quetta to Karachi vanished.
Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa, commander of the army, updates Prime
Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the current news.
PM requests that everyone remember and pray for the valiant
Pakistani military.
The Army Air helicopter went overdue a day ago, and on
Tuesday, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the commander of the army,, called Prime
Minister Shehbaz Sharif to update him regarding the most recent happenings in
the hunt.
The 6 vanished army officers and jawans, notably Lt. Gen.
Sarfaraz Ali, commander of the 12 Corps, worried the head of state.
The prime minister praised Lieutenant General Sarfraz Ali as
a superb soldier as well as a great person.
He voiced worry for every person on board's wellbeing.
In addition, the prime minister requested that everyone
remember the courageous Pakistani troops in their minds and expressed how
terribly devastated the whole nation was by the awful tragedy.
The premier praised the "obedient children" who
assisted disaster victims as "wonderful ideals of devotion."
Throughout Friday night, the chief of army staff has already
been updating the head of state on the progress of the hunt for the lost
chopper.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) tweeted on Monday
that a Pakistan Army aviation chopper carrying prominent individuals and
travelling from Quetta to Karachi had vanished.
The army's press office stated that the aviation chopper had
lost communication with air traffic controllers while performing a disaster aid
mission in Lasbela, Balochistan.
The post stated that there were six people on board, such as
Commander 12 Corps who was overseeing flood rescue operational activities in
Balochistan and that a search effort is in progress.
Media has information that Corp General Quetta Lieutenant
General Sarfaraz Ali, who was overseeing the province's disaster relief
efforts, was also aboard.
According to information provided by media, Major Syed was
operating the chopper and Major Talha served as the co-pilot. Brigadier Amjad,
Director-General of the Coast Guards, Brigadier Khalid, and chief naik Mudassir
were also attending.
The severe rains that have devastated the region and killed
147 people are now keeping the civil administration and the National Guard busy
with relief efforts.
After the event, the local office reported that a chopper
had crashed near the Windar area's Sassi Punnu Shrine, although the Official
has not yet confirmed whether this was the same aircraft.
The chopper was reportedly observed low flying before it
vanished, according to locals. The event reportedly occurred just before
sundown, according to reports at the time (Maghrib prayers).
The chopper is being sought after, according to city police
forces, according to deputy inspector general Khuzdar Pervez Imrani. There are
mountain ranges in the vicinity, which is making the rescue operation
challenging.
He said that security crews are attempting to locate the
chopper on motorbikes despite the difficulty brought on by the topography. For
the previous 5 hours, police and the Frontier Corps have been working together
to rescue people.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif posted his worry on
the loss of the chopper: "Alarmingly, an Army Aviation aircraft has
vanished from Balochistan. The rest of the state prays to Almighty Allah for
the wellbeing of these countrymen which went out now to assist the disaster
victims as well as their health, stability, and homecoming. Allah willing."
